Super Rookie B.A.P is Unstoppable!

In just two months after their debut, Korean boy band B.A.P managed to hold their first meeting in Singapore in March last year. That was held in a piazza of a shopping mall, with a stage too small for the sextet. When they started to perform their fierce dance, reporters were all afraid that the stage would collapse.

After over a year, they came back again and held their first full scale concert “B.A.P Live on Earth” in The Star Theatre on 8 August. The stage was larger this time, supported with sophisticated lighting and sound systems. Most importantly, the size of audience was a few times larger than that when they first came, significantly proved the popularity and prowess of B.A.P!

Singing and dancing full of “Power”

Compared with other Korean male groups, the style of B.A.P's performances is more masculine. Besides the powerful hits such as “Warrior”, “Power”, “No Mercy” and “One Shot”, their explosive dance moves were definitely the highlight. Leader Bang Yongguk's rough low tone and rich facial expressions added spice to his fascinating rapping. Lead vocalist Daehyun hitting high notes one after one fully showcased the vocal talent of the group.

Zelo and Youngjae being the strongest in English

None of the members in the group ever studied in English speaking countries, neither is English their mother tongue, but B.A.P still tried their best to communicate with fans in English in the concert without the help of interpreters. Although what they said were not fully understood, their sincerity and hard work were much appreciated.

Zelo and Youngjae are the two most capable English speakers among the members. After Youngjae mentioned that Singapore is the first foreign country they visited after their debut, Zelo immediately added,'That's why Singapore has a special position in our hearts. We missed you a lot!' While fans were screaming and cheering for them towards the end, Zelo made a sentimental remark,'We will never forget this moment!'

Displaying their lovable side

One of the sessions in the concert set out to showcase their hidden talents in front of the fans. Daehyun covered Zelo's famous LTE rap in “Warrior”, in which he articulated 16 syllables in one second. Zelo showed full support and even jokingly said that Daehyun rapped better than he did. Being the maknae, Zelo was unavoidably accustomed to perform “Gwiyomi”. Even the charismatic Yongguk performed the cutie player under fans' requests, causing passionate screams.

Press conference lasted for only 12 minutes

Perhaps the exclusive right to interview was left to just a few media outlets, other reporters were not allowed to raise questions even if B.A.P's press conference was held in a shopping mall. It therefore ended in a short 12 minutes. At the same time, the interpreter did not translate the members' response completely, nor did the MC lead them to give better answers. For instance, since B.A.P's new song is called “Bad Man”, the members were asked who is the bad man in the group. When Jongup answered that was Himchan, the MC did not grab the chance to dig into the reasons behind his choice, which was very disappointing.
