HC - Himchan DH - Daehyun
This month, our magazine has also interviewed BAP who came back swiftly into the kpop music industry with “Hajima”! This time round, we have Himchan and Daehyun with us.
Moodmaker? Troublemaker?
HC : I’m the first one here, so let’s start on the usual first impressions interview. My first impressions of Daehyun is that he is a country bumpkin. (Laughs). I think that it’s because at that time, he just came from Busan. Anyhow, he changed his hairstyle and turned into the stylish and trendy young man he is now.
DH : That was when I had just arrived in Seoul. I had to attend dance practice so I went to the TS building. Since I wasn’t familiar with the surroundings, I was very nervous. Just then, Yongguk and Himchan hyung came into the practice room. Seeing them, who had by then participated in promotional activites, stylishly dressed, I felt that they carry themselves with the image and aura of a celebrity. It’s an incredible feeling.
HC : Hehe. Victory! (Laughs)
DH : Ah! Regardless of time, between then and now, Himchan hyung still looks handsome in every angle. We have something in common, that is we love to play and joke around with our friends.
HC : When we are together, it is always very noisy and we will end up as a mess (*) so we normally avoid ending up together and creating a ruckus.
DH : If you say Himchan hyung is the mood maker, then I am definitely the one who spoils the mood. (Laughs)
HC : Instead of pointing out who we are, why not just say we are both troublemakers? Isn’t that right?
DH : AH! Hahaha. (Laughs) Himchan hyung is one of those people who look like they walked out of animes. He really makes people happy.
HC : To me, Daehyun is a friend-like little brother. Even though he can be scary sometimes.
DH : Ah?? Scary?
HC : When we are in the dorm, his temper will sometimes flare and he will lecture us like he’s our mom. (Laughs)
DH : The mom role is actually Himchan hyung’s!
HC : By the way, during that last interview that we did for Hallyu Pier, (**) we all did that survey. Daehyun what was your choice?
DH : In the past, I would have chose Youngjae or Yongguk hyung but now that I know the members, I wouldn’t choose anyone.
HC : To be honest, I wouldn’t chose the members either. If I really had to make a choice, it would be innocent Jongup.
DH : But if we have younger sisters, wouldn’t it be too early for her to date?
HC : Yes, yes. What would you specially bring out about our new song, “Hajima”?
DH : Oh, I think that Himchan hyung’s special move during his line “Please don’t be angry” is very interesting!
HC : Daehyun is main vocals, so it makes sense that he takes up a big part of the song. To also dance while singing, I think it’s very difficult for him too. Yet, he has never shown how tired he is and he is very determined to put all of his effort into it. I feel that’s the beauty of Daehyun. (***)
DH : Aw, thankyou. (Shy) In October, BAP participated in a reality show by MNET. One of our Japan fans mentioned me on SNS, saying that she was happy BAP was going on break but it turned out to be a hoax and BAP went on a weird killing camp that makes fun of BAP’s idol image. (Laughs) Hyung, if we really had a break, what would you do?
HC : If it was only for a day, I would sleep and go for practice. If it was for a long period of time, I would want to go home to my parents and meet my old friends.
DH : When we have off days, we end up practicing too because the distance between the dorm and the practice rooms is really near. We also practise separately by ourselves when we have time off.
HC : We have occasional off days too.
DH : Before we debuted, we never thought we would be so popular. Even after warnings from Sajangnim and the people around us that after we debuted, we would be very busy and there would be no time to rest, at that time, we didn’t immediately feel the effects of it. Even though it became a reality, I have never thought of how tired I am.
HC : That reality program has this “Death Phone” that will deliver messages to us. If I possessed that phone, I would call my manager in that voice and say “PLEASE DO NOT LOOK FOR ME”. (****)
DH : But! I think that the fact that we are unable to rest means we are popular, right? We will work hard towards receiving the rookie awards. Please anticipate BAP!
