Q: Japanese Debut Goals?
Yongguk: There are many artists in Japan, so to be able to collaborate with a famous one.
Himchan: I want to do a dome tour.
Youngjae: Me too, I want to do my best and my goal is a dome tour!
Daehyun: Me too! To be able to do a dome tour, I will do my best for our Japan promotions!
Jongup: I want to go on Japanese variety shows
Zelo: I want to be able to complete our promotions safely without injury. Safety is number one (laughs) (Note: This is the slogan on all Japanese construction sites and other public places, maybe Zelo thought he was making a joke XD)

The members also are all jittery at the idea
of their long awaited debut in Japan!
Even though this year is only their
second year since debut, B.A.P has held their “B.A.P Live On Earth Pacific”
world tour, visiting 8 different locations in total in America and Asia, one of
them being Japan. They are finally debuting in Japan on October 9th
with their first single, Warrior.
First of all, how did you feel when your Japan debut was decided?
Jongup: We have a lot of
sunbaes that have already debuted in Japan and we were wondering when we would,
too. So when it was decided I was very happy about it.
Youngjae: (In Japanese) We are
also very happy to be able to debut in Japan with our original debut song Warrior.
Yongguk: We want to show everyone
a performance that will meet their expectations.
How is the Japanese version of Warrior?
Himchan: Even though we sang
it in Japanese, the final product is pretty good, so I’d really like for
everyone to listen carefully to the lyrics that are different from the Korean
version.
Youngjae: (In Japanese) The
music video is also different! The Korean version has a very strong image and
we used fire during filming, but we used both fire and water in the Japanese
version in order to express hotness and coldness at once.
Daehyun: Not only Warrior, but we also adapted Power and Punch to fit the Japanese style. Especially for Power the Korean version gives off very
strong vibes, so taking in consideration that Japanese people put a lot of
importance to listening, the Japanese version is still powerful but we toned it
down a little.
Were there any hardships during recording?
Zelo: The pronunciation of
Japanese “tsu” was very hard. I really couldn’t get it right so we recorded me
saying it over and over again.
What was something memorable during recording?
Jongup: We are always saying
how if we had a day off we’d like to go to the beach. So since we used water
during filming we all played and had fun with the water.
This year in May you held your own concert at the Pacifico Yokohama. How was it like to hold a concert in Japan?
Himchan: We had just finished
our concerts in the USA before the concerts in Japan. The venues there were
around 2500-3000 seats so first of all we were surprised at the size of a 5000
seats venue.
Jongup: Also,
Japanese fans really watch concerts carefully. Or maybe I should say that they
concentrate and watch us when we perform on stage and then they have fun with
us at the end. I really thought that it was a good thing about Japan.
Youngjae:
Ah! Also, all 6 of us went to Harajuku and the crepe and ice cream we ate there
was really delicious!
During this world tour, in
what way did you feel you have grown?
Yongguk:
More than grown, I think it was a good learning experience. And then we really got to physically experience standing on our
own stage for a full 2 hours. I don’t have any words that fully describe how
moving it is.
Again in November, you will be having an arena tour in Japan right after your debut, right?
Zelo: We’re really excited because it will be
the biggest stage we will have had the chance to perform on so far.
